About My Collection

Most of my classical LP collection, and all of the releases from audiophile labels such as Sheffield and MFSL, were purchased between 1982 and 1988. Since purchase, they have been properly stored indoors with temperature control (heating/air conditioning). They have been moved coast-to-coast and back and have probably seen some temperature extremes, though not for extended periods of time. Opened LPs were played on either Denon/Grado or Thorens/Grado setups kept properly aligned. If opened and played, most LPs were only played once or twice. LPs were never lent out, and I have not had a turntable connected to my system since 1988, so none of them have been played since then. All newer LPs have been in protective plastic sleeves since they were first unwrapped.
I used a rigorous quality control when the LPs were purchased. When the LP was played for the first time, if I thought there were too many clicks and pops, or if the disc was warped, I returned the LP for another copy. I can remember returning as many as half a dozen copies of some of the releases before finding a quiet, flat pressing to keep. This also meant that I often heard an LP several times before settling on the copy to keep, so most often the copy in my collection has been played very few times, often just once. All boxed sets (i.e., most of the multi-LP sets) include the original booklets and padding.
All single LPs and double LPs in folding albums (as opposed to boxed sets) were put in heavy plastic sleeves as soon as they were purchased. All plain paper inner sleeves have been replaced with audiophile quality anti-static sleeves.
Please use the shopping cart system to place queries about discs or to place an order. LPs are subject to prior sale. I have only one copy of each disc listed, and will fill orders on a first-come, first-served basis as the "orders" arrive via email. All orders are finalized via email with the person placing the order, and all payments are immediately refundable if the LPs have not shipped. I can take checks drawn on U.S. banks or PayPal, which allows you to pay with your credit card (signup is free). If you need to contact me directly for any reason concerning these LPs, please write to: "orders at classical.net" replacing the "at" with "@"
All LPs are sold "as is".
