Vincenzo Salvatore Carmelo Francesco Bellini [November 3, 1801 - September 23, 1835] was an Italian opera composer remembered for his flowing melodic lines; Bellini was the archetypal composer of Bel canto opera.
orn to a highly musical family, and exhibited his talent at a very early age. At the age of eighteen he began studies that resulted in his first opera Adelson e Salvini. His reputation grew quickly, as did his successes. Bellini's five years were triumphant, scoring major successes with his greatest works: La sonnambula, Norma and I puritani.
