Memories 2067

There's a second disc with this set that includes material "Memories" lifted from CALA CDs.

In a "Hammacher Schlemmer" Catalogue…(how the hell did I start getting THIS catalogue???…) is an advertisement for a LP to CD converter…it costs less than $200.00. This CD appeared not too long after this catalogue…

What REALLY pisses me off is not JUST the amateurish job that a company rushed out because they felt they might make a buck on the release…is that I'd finally convinced Ed Johnson to release this on the CALA label…which would've provided a REAL remastering and we'd be able to LISTEN to the Stokowski Sound…but, no…Memories won't earn any profit on this and because Ed is convinced that any CALA release wouldn't be purchased because members would already have purchased this abortion…

…it really does sound like they used this machine…you can hear the needle swish if you crank it up…the opening of the 5th is off pitch on the LPs…CALA might've been able to get original tapes and even if they couldn't I'm sure it would be corrected as much as possible…that is, it would have been given the kind of release it deserves…

…okay, so just how many of you would be willing to purchase a release of the Prokofieff Symphonies 5 and 6 even if you've already purchased this ilk…I'm willing to make a $500 matching pledge for the effort and if that fails I'll pay the $500.00 for a REAL transfer and keep it to myself…

Boycott this…of course this may be a form of postvide…
