Yet another minor French composer emerges from the orchestral mist. The symphony begins much like Magnard's 3rd but generally other models emerge, the orchestration reminiscent of Dukas' symphony but especially Debussy. The Luxembourg orchestra acquits itself very well and presents unfamiliar music in the best light.
